 Born on Long Island, New York I moved with my family at a very young age to Central Florida. Throughout all of my life, I have always had a passion for animals, nature and photography. As a self-taught photographer and now a student at the NYIP, I started focusing my photography towards nature and all of it’s intricacies.
When I met my husband in 2001, we traveled to the Caribbean, around the country and have seen some beautiful places. Through my photography I have realized that you do not have to travel the world to see and appreciate all of the beauty that surrounds us, it’s just as beautiful as you envision or create it. The places my husband and I traveled, all have there own unique characteristics, I even went as far as recreating the memories of my travels at my home to enjoy everyday.
Another fascination of mine was Butterflies. I created a garden with host plants to attract and watch them reproduce they transformed from caterpillar to chrysalis then emerged into a butterfly, something every person should experience. In my opinion, they are truly one of the most extraordinary and beautiful species. In addition to the Butterflies, Tree frogs became another frequent visitor. I became fascinated with them, not to mention how adorable they are. They would come to my patio and yard daily. The two species became the inspiration of most of my work. My vision, inspiration, passion and travels are a pleasure to share with you.
To maintain the highest standards, I personally perform all the creative aspects involved in my work. Each photo is mounted and matted using acid-free materials. I use several different cameras to capture my images. A Canon 35mm EOS Rebel 2000 SLR and a Canon 35mm EOS Digital XT SLR. All images are printed on Ilford professional paper, using a Canon Pro 9000. I embellish all images with Genuine Swarovski Crystals, which gives them each an original touch-no two are alike. I custom hand cut each mat using a tabletop professional Logan cutter and do all my own framing.
